i have a 4in pleco now n is still growing he will out grow my tank soon could i sell it back to the pet store? or what should i do with it?

You could try giving it back to the pet store, but I don't think they would buy it from you. Some pet stores will take it back, but some won't.
OR you could buy it a bigger tank.

What size tank is it in now? Is it a common plec?

Just sold two back to my Pet shop they had just grown to big for my tank,
The shop owner gave me £20 for each of them.

Yes but if its just a 4inch common plec you'll be lucky to get a £5 for it...

Either give it back to the store, sell it to a friend with a larger tank, or buy a bigger tank.
