How do they breed? I watched my male bully the female around a bit, it wuld chase the female around some. Is this aggression, I've only had these a few days so I don't a lot about them. Would rocks, caves and plants help to counteract this? Or should I get another female?

The tankmates are 3 scissortails, an endler and two corys. Tank size is 10 gallons.

Well first of all, the female would need to be ready to breed, meaning that she would look fat and full of eggs. The male would start building a bubble nest under some floating plants and then entice the female by chasing her towards the bubble nest. The male would then wrap around the female and squeeze the eggs into the bubbles. Afterwards, the female swims off leaving the male to take care of the nest.

Usually it is better to keep 2 females to 1 male to spread out the aggression. Having some hiding places and plants would help out too. Also are you sure they are not both males? Females are very dull in colour.

Sorry to take over but I thought in dwarf gouramis the male were red and femles blue. I obviously have that wrong. I also thought gouramis should be in a well planted tank which imo would help.

The female I have is white and smaller, the male is a besuitiful fish. So this could be breeding behavior? So I need to put in some plants and stuff. When I bought them my mom had commented on her being fat and full of eggs. I guess I'll go to the pet store. Any certain plants?

If I get another female, would my tank be able to hold another female?
