Well, as I said. It's currently home to a rubbernose pleco and some random plants. =3 The plants can easily be relocated but the pleco is happy there so I don't want to pester him, but I can if need be.

I'm not wanting livebearers (I have enough of those water-bunnys) or barbs or bettas, I'm wanting to try something a bit more agressive. Maybe some type of chiclid would be nice?

So basically what I'm looking for is-

Freshwater
Moderately to very agressive
Pretty
able to live in 30g - long

I'm not wanting anything that's going to get massive on me either. (Hubby wanted an oscar...I said 'Once you get me my 90 gal, honey, we'll talk.') And don't worry, I know how to take care of da fishies, just give me names and I'll do some research on them and figure out what will work best for me.

Thanks so much

Mina

A pair of convicts? I know nothing about them put they looked pretty nice at my LFS, and I heard a breeding pair can be VERY aggressive. I also heard that they breed like mad, so don't know if you'll end up with loads of babies or not.

you could get a jewel chiclid. they are very pretty and aggressive, you can have two in a thirty gallon long. there are some pictures at aquahobby.com its under african cichlid and is like the third one down.

Yeah you could get the long finned version of the black tetra or some blue or opaline gouramis they are the most aggressive fish I've ever seen.

Well, I have decided that I really like convicts so far of what has been suggested because there are all over the place here. Every LFS as some so I know I can get a nice breeding pair...I really wish I could get my mitts on a trio of Apistogramma agassizi though  Those guys are really neat!

Those jewel chiclids are so pretty...(Ugh, you people and your beautiful fish suggestions! I want them all!) *drools over them* haven't seen any around here though and I'm not too keen about ordering via net... :look: I'm paranoid, lol

Would you guys think that a pair of Convicts would be ok with about 5 rosy barbs and a plec? (I love my little barbs, they have so much personality) If not, what is reccomended that I can get...I don't want anything too tiny (2 in maybe?) maybe something that's a top schooling fish?

A afican butterflyfish might work for the top or a bristlenose pleci is a good alges eater.
