Well I just put him in a holding tank with an air pump and algae wafer so he can eat and I noticed his gills look alittle red what does that mean and what medicine should I use?
Red gill mean poor water quality, could of been at the lfs, or parasites like gill flukes and such, any flicking and rubbing, laboured breathing, has the tetra got red inflamed gills check the other fish.
He's not sounding good at all, not good when a fish stops eating, don't return him bless him, let him dye in peace, keep him in the holder don't wan't the other fish pecking at him, then freeze him when he's died to show the lfs if you wan't your money back.
But they only have a 2 day return policy. And I thought if they saw it was sick they would now what to treat for. I might just return him because I'm down to my last $13 and don't have enough to buy meds for one fish.
Or bless him, there is something definately wrong with him, he shouldn't be skinny, and not eating, hard to trigger it down to the cause, could be a number of things, sorry.
Well now that hes in a holding tank he doesn't look to skinny but he seems to sit at the bottom near his food and kinda tilts sideways occasionaly. If he is acting this way tommorow and has not eaten his food I'll put him in a 1g with a filter I found and keep him in their until I can return the poor little guy.
