it's our anniversary in a couple of weeks, got Ian a hydor external heater for his planted tank (romantic isn't it! lol) was a proper surprise he'd never have guessed it but would have been dead chuffed.
then we had heater troubles last night as we had to set up a quarantine tank and hadn't been able to plan for it, didn't have enough heaters to go round, Ian was stressing about the fish dying I was stood there knowing full well i could tell him about his present and give it him straight away which would solve the fishy problems, but ruin the surprise. After a few minutes stressing i told him.

good cos it solved the problem, but i'm really annoyed my surprise was spoilt :-(

bah, he's offered to buy it off me so i can then get him something else to be a surprise...... can't bloody think of anything else decent now though and it's short notice.

grrrr bloody heaters! PITA!

More annoying is the fact that the suckers *never* stick on internal heaters. Or, when they do, you can't get them off...

,Aaaarrrrrhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!! and another MASSIVE Aaaaaarrrrrrrhhhhhh!!!!!!!!

now thats what i call romantic,

the fact is:
you brought Ian some thing that saved the day, not only did you save him from a few days of pain if he had lost his fish, but you also saved the fish...........GOOD ON YOU!
be proud that it was a heater you got, it was meant to be, deep down you knew that this was the right present all along and it was a lovely surprise.

if i were you id be thinking of something nice in return

simular happened to me last week, had a tank that cracked, transfered fish into main tank at a squeeze and was planning on getting a new one the following week.
went out for the day with parnter, looking in LSF ofcourse and before i knew it i was on my own, went looking for my partner and there at the checkout was a brand new tank with all the bits i needed and some live food for my main tank, all paid for and waiting for me...........little old me, i could have cried.

its just a fab reminder why we chose to stay with people that care and also care about our own personal interest/hobbies as well

LONG LIVE ALL ROMANTICS may they be happy forever and ever....................AMEN

awwwww that's lovely of your partner to do.

aye it may sound soppy (those with poor stomachs turn away now) but it is things like this that remind me just how well we can read each other, i truly believe we're meant to be together. love him to bits

oh and I sort of know what he's got me.... he snuck off to this little custom made jewellery type place for half an hr. dunno what i've got but i know where it's from and the stuff they sell is absolutely beautiful :D

and he said he was asking them about custom made rings. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D although that won't be for a while yet! lol

 I've allways been a sucker for a romantic story, this is beter than a Hugh Grant film, brought a tear to my eye....

i can do better than that....... before me and Ian got together we were friends, he knew i had no luck with fella's, always picked loosers. we were talking one night and I was moaning that no bloke had ever bought me flowers, it wasn't the actual flowers I was fussed about just the time, effort and the gesture of it. I'd have been happy with a 3 quid bunch from asda so long as someone had taken the time to think of me. Next day what turns up at my work but the biggest most beautiful bouquet you've ever seen. That night Ian plucked up the courage to ask me to go on a proper date with him and we got together. In 5 days it will be the anniversary of that 1st bunch of flowers, and there has not been a single day in between that I've not had a bunch of flowers from him in the house.

we joke that he's made his own grave now though, he'll have to keep doing it forever!
