I Got My Lights, I've Got My Sand Now Comes The Co2

Do a search here or on fishgeeks.com for a DIY CO2 setup. Easily done, no cost and will likely work as well if not better than the e-bay one. If you do go DIY be sure to use either a champagne yeast (from wine making store or brewers yeast. They a far more alcohol tolerant than other yeasts. You will likely discover on, doing the research on the DIY, that a yeast based generator will not likely support a 125G tank. Do the e-bay thing again and have a look at CO2 regulators. You should be looking for one with 2 gages, a bubble counter, a metering valve and a solenoid. Should be in the $65 to $85 range. This will not include a tank.
Cheers;

Yeah i wanted to do the DIY but call me lazy With looking after all my other animals and the tank I didn't want to worry about have to mix the yeast and sugar every 3-5 weeks. I also Have 260 watts of light so I'm going to need some major Co2 in there to balance out so I don't get algae blooms. I also plan on having tons of plants. Thanks for the heads up on the regulators. I didn't know they could run so inexpensive. The guy at the welding place wanted 100.00 for a double gage.

I'm deciding what fish to stock in there eventually. (just thinking, still a long time away from getting them)
Has anyone had any experiance with these 2?

Zebra plecs.... I know they are expensive. I'm use to saving money now after this hobby. LOL
German blue rams...... I cannot find any info online. How big do they get? are they aggrasive?

Also have a look here, this is a great site that's got lots of good basic info on the vast majority of fish.

chameleongeekgrl - someone on the previous page advised a yest based CO2 system. I don`t think its a good idea since CO2 production with a yeast system will not be great enough for the size of your tank!
Especially with your lovely high light system, you need an equally good CO2 supply in both consistancy and concentration to balance the system and reduce algae growth.

good Luck

Chris
