I Got My Aequidens Diadema :D

Thanks minxy :) yeah she is doing well (fairly certain its a she due to the rounded fins). I'm hopeful she is A.Diadema and thats what I will refer to her as but the other candidates are A.Diadema, A.Metae, A.Pallidus or A.sp Jenaro Herrera and there is still a chance she is a wild hybrid. The main contenders seem to be A.Diadema and A.Metae as the spJH have red ventral fins and hers are blue/silver and the A.Pallidus have blue fins hers are more orangy. But then telling between A.Metae and A.Diadema is tough because she has a partial line on the gil cover which is unusual for A.Diadema but for A.Metae should have a full more pronounced line and then to complicate it more between these 2 in the tank her face squiggles are more silvery which would suggest A.Diadema but on photos it looks more blue/green which suggests A.Metae

So it looks quite good for it to be A.Diadema as I would take my eyes over my camera anyday, plus my tank always looks bluey on photos as well so yeah I am fairly happy to call her A.Diadema

:)

Hi,
I've read that you shouldn't buy sick fish but if they're injured what happens to them then?; (R.I.P). If I was the fish I'd be very greatful to you, happy that I'd found a nice home, and be terrified of nets (LOL).
good on you!

Joe :)

Reasons not to buy sick fish are usually so they dont pass on disease to your other fish. But if you can quarantine them for a while and treat them I see no problem with it. Although if it was just for a standard fish for example a tiger barb I would head over to an other store and get them from there but since this was quite a rarity I got it. I have to admit when he dropped her I thought oh crap what do I do but I knew how hard these were to find in my area so stuck with it and Im glad I did.
