Well after a lot of looking I finally found a petshop with cockatoo cichlids. I plan to buy atleast 3 maybe 4 or 5. It is gonna be awesome. Would it hurt to add them to my current stock or should I get rid of the danios?

Should not bother the danios (and vice versa). I want some :( never see them round here.

What do you mean get rid of them? Getting rid of an old fish to get a new fish is sad. :-(
Depends on the fish, have you seen cokatoos? and if you can rehome them to a suitable place.

How many cockatoos cichlids can I fit in my current stock, which is found in my profile?

I would if i knew how to post them to you! I don't know re fish 'inches' for the volume of your tank, but i can say that I have my cockatoos in a community tank with guppies, otos and rams, and they got on well enough to breed. I also have a pair of Agassizi apistos in my other community tank with more guppies, some swordies, corys, mollies, plec etc and although they haven't bred they are doing really well. The male apisto is the boss of the tank, and chases anyone who's cheeky or disrespectful, but none of the fish showed any signs of stress or distress. They also keep mostly to the bottom and to their territory based around a cave or rock etc, so things like danios that like the top won't really affect them at all. So I would say go for it! The advice I got was a male with two or three females - you need to allow one square foot of ground for each female to have their territory and provide caves, and the male is the boss of them all. With the space you've got I would go for only one male and two females I guess. But i'm no expert, Lucky62 and Dwarfs would be the guys to ask i think.

Well I have a 20 long gallon stocked with
6 zebra danios
3 clown loaches all 1-1.5 inch
2 rams
3 otos
I have an emperor 400 and do water changes twice a week.
How many cockatoos can i fit?

Sorry, but I wouldn't add any cockatoos to that setup. Perhaps a single pair if you have enough structure in the tank.

Then what would you change? The clowns will be moved this christmas when I get my bigger tank. As for the other fish Im willing to give the danios to a friend.

A pair of rams need a 20g tank but so does a pair or trio of cockatoos. Unless rams and apistos get alone fine and don't see each other as a threat to their territory it could work but I don't see that as likely. Perhaps somone who has kept both species can be of more help.

edit: I don't see the danios being a problem at all.
