I Feel Guilty

My girl I've had for a while now has been having a set to with my new red one. They were flaring and slapping eachother with their tails and biting. Then they got distracted by another fish swimming by just stopped! My original has come back and flared at her again a few times and the red one just swims off.

I feel guilty because the girl I've hda ages looked at me and I feel she doesn't like all this. I know I'm silly but I worry. Do you think it's all a disaster?

Can females actually like being together in the same tank or just tolerate it?

It's always a gamble with them. Some are very tolerant of other females and males and others can be more aggressive than the males. My female is a bit of a tyrant and doesn't put up with crap from anyone! I'm pretty sure I could never add another female..and I have a 140g! At least all the other fish leave her alone, lol.

You've only just got them Marie and they will take a few days to settle and sort out a pecking order. Try not to worry too much hun. Unless one is obviously getting hurt then I would just leave them to sort out their status within the tank. I'm sure things will calm down in a few days x
