hehehe. the other day i finished my work early and manager let me feed the bettas :D
we didnt know if they had gotten fed yet, but probably not because...not to be mean or anything to my coworkers
but they have so much other stuff to do, and they have horrible communication with each other, as far as what they had done already, etc.
there were a few sad looking, brownish colored girls, they were just sittin at the bottom of the cups :(
so i lined em up! talked to em! and gave them a couple pellets each n they swam up and ate em so fast
i bet they were hungry :(

we had sold quite a few of them so i spread the boys out on the shelf thinking they will be able to relax if their neighbors arnt flaring at them 24/7
not that i know how far they can see but. hehe.

made me feel good :) i always go by and check on them now.

i also found a dead one

that is all :D
hai guys

Thats great, I bet they ejoyed some company for once lol! They probably were quite hungry i find my betta really snatches the food if he hasnt been fed for a few days but thats only when i go on a weekend holiday to my nanas.
Good on you feeding them :) Keep an eye on them!

I wish there were more kind people like you working at these places. The bettas by me are starved and you find a lot of them dead and stick thin. I snuck some pellets in one day from my house and fed them, I probably saved a few from certain death just by giving them 3 pellets each. So sad.

the best part is when little kids spot them and grab a cup and run over to their moms like "mom can i please have it mom please mom it only needs a jar and some food"
and im like god please no...mom...say no....say noooooooooo

i also sold a couple pretty little girls to a lady and her mom. they were tellin me about how she has a ten gallon tank that she had already cycled
and was ready for some fish
an i was like YAY TAKE THIS ONE AND THIS ONEEEE
lol. i had her take my favorite one :)
she seemed like a real sweet girl.
she had a 5g tank for a new boy too which she picked out
i love some people..but others i just.i dont know i wish they didnt keep the bettas in those cups, because they are so easy to just pick up and buy,
without having to talk to anyone for help, or get grilled by our employees.

Can you not convince the manager to allow you to set up some spare critter keepers for the bettas instead of those hideous cups? You can make sponge filters for them for so little money, and if you use some cheap heat mats under the tanks the bettas will at least have some heat even if the manager/company won't allow individual heaters.

Healthy happy fish SELL BETTER <---- ( if that doesn't convince him/her I don't know what will )

Better yet would be to use any empty stock tanks ( most stores DO have them ) , divide them heat and filter them, and put the bettas into the divided tanks. Surely this is a good use for them instead of them lying empty or with the same old bog standard tetras and whatnot?

i agree, but its not even up to my manager. its a large chain that is something corporate decides.
corporate even decides what temperature the store gets to be for US!
which is rediculous....its like 80 degrees in there i swear
