I Don't Want Fry

CORRECTION THIS IS ACTUALLY WHAT I HAVE didnt know the genders properly:
1 male slifin molly
2 FEMALE black mollies
1 male platy
1 female platy
and I woke up this morning and found my female mollies stomach had a less of a buldge by not much though. Also i found a few black molly fry! Some of them got sucked up by my powerful venturi filter and some got eaten by my much larger salifin molly! The 3 left are now hiding behind my filter thwy look healthy though. Should I just leave them and let nature take course or put them in a small fish bowl that has no filter?
   nah I still dont want them but they look like there going to live as all the other big fishes arent as interested in them anymore.......there just too fast.

In a very few days, they will be swimming around your tank as if they owned the place. Black molly fry are very large compared to many other livebearers.

You're vey right they are quite big. I thought they would be miniscule!

I put a few female bettas in my live bearer tank, just to make sure I won't need to upgrade anytime soon!

How is that working out for you? My big male veil tail is a miserable failure at controlling the endler population in his tank. At first he loved to try to eat them but after a short time I think he has given up trying to catch them. There are so many and they swim so well he can't catch enough to make any difference and I think he has become discouraged. I have seen him swim up and take a flake away from a newborn endler while ignoring the meal the fry might have made.

Would a female betta control the population? my male salifin molly started mating with my female black molly.

If you want real fry control, with almost no survivors, an angel is a great stealth predator. The look so slow and clumsy but it is all show. They will sit absolutely still and face straight at a fry which makes them look more or less like a leaf to the fry. Once the fry is close enough, it will just disappear in a very short burst of speed from the angel.

Thanks for the ideas everyone.
Can another idea be to get another tank and put males in one tank and females in the other?

I wouldnt add a angel to a 17G they need to have atleast a 18" tall tank and 30G+ is best. A male apisto would do the job well and can live in a 17G tank. You could have a pair of apisto (1 male 1 female) in a tank that size. or a keyhole cichlid would work and they get a little bigger but are a bit more peaceful IME so might not eat as many.

just leave them in the tank. other fish will eat them.but if you dont want them to die get a little 10g or something the raise then sell them to the LFS for 2$ a fish
