A couple weeks ago I lost my female guppy to what looked like it might be dropsy. Her scales on her belly started sticking up. Then my puffer attacked her cause she was sick and she didn't make it.

Then a couple days ago I noticed one of my gouramis is acting strangly and looking a little swollen. Its gotten more and more swollen and lookes really bad. Its eating tho and swimming around just fine. Then last night I looked and a totally different gourami was laying on the bottom of the tank. I thought it was dead, but when I went to remove it, it swam off. I fed them a few minutes ago and that same gourami can barely swim. Its trying so hard to get up to the top. It looks like something with the swim bladder the way its swimming, but I dont know cause this all just suddenly happened last night. I KNOW its not my puffer because there would be marks on my fish. Theres NOTHING. No nipped fins... no marks.. nothing.

My parameters are:

pH is at 7.0-7.2 (its kinda hard to tell)
ammonia 0ppm
nitrite 0ppm
nitrate is between 0ppm and 5.0

I really dont want to loose any more fish and especially my puff. I am going to do a small water change in a minute. Whatever it is seems to be affecting the rest of the fish. Right now all the others seem just fine. All swimming and active and eating. PLEASE HELP!!

I'd suggest doing a large water change. The more water you move out, the more bacteria and/or parasites you take out.

If things don't get better, you had better start treating your tank for dropsy. Try adding a pic of your fish if you can. that way we can be sure what your fish have.
