I Didn't Want To...but He Made Me Do It

I just bought a betta and I've had him for less than a month now...and because I'm a total NOOB at this I would often panic if he would sit still or if there was a bit of dust in the water (you know...the whole "dust = bacterial infection" stage). So you might be wondering what's with my topic title...well my boyfriend made me join a forum with experts (like yourselves) to help me out whenever I have a panic attack.

Hey! Welcome to the forum! Make sure you read some of the "pinned" or "sticky" posts that are at the top of all the forums; they have some good information about some of the common questions people ask.

Good luck with your betta! Have a look at some of the articles or posts about cycling a tank. You'll need to keep up with the water changes for your betta and if you feel like spending some money later on you could consider getting a larger tank with a filter and heater which your betta would appreciate because you would then be able to maintain a more stable environment.

And don't panic if your betta doesn't move for a while - ours (who is doing fine) has been known to fall asleep propped up on the bog wood in his tank... only waking up when he feels like it...
