What is the bright green plant in the middle of this pic? I've had it for more than half a year now, it's very slow glowing and has only created one shoot that became a plant:

Also, what is this little guy? When we were putting the 30 gallon together I put a single leaf of this plant into the gravel as a joke and bam 3 weeks later and we have a small plant lol:

i have one of those - will try to find out the name for you
as to the second - no idea

Echinodorus of some sort. There are over 20 types so i sugest going to TROPICA and take some time looking through the plant list.
As for the second one, dont know sorry.

Yes, it loks like Echinodorus osiris they can grow quite big and once they start spreading, they really spread. I had about 7 or 8 new plants within a month. Mine grew a long stem which bends down into the sand. It starts growing a new plant and the stem grows on to the next spot.

The second one may be Hygrophila Difformis - Water Wisteria. I know it looks nothing like it at the mo but the newer leaves look like that may be starting to form the regular submerged form. Keep an eye on it and let us know how it develops. I'd be interested in knowing.

James

Is the first one not an amazon sword? Ive had some that get like that when they're not getting enough nutrients? Seems to make the leaves grow long and they look washed out and less green? Just an idea.

I see what you're saying, but shouldn't even very young plants show sings on the very divided leaf the mature plants have? I was thinking it could be rotala?

Not necessarily. I have sometimes seen the leaves look like this. The emmersed form of the leaf is very different to the submerged one. I may be totally wrong but I've just got this feeling it might be H. Difformis. That's why I'd be interested in seeing how it grows.

Oh right, I've never had much luck with it so tend not to use it. Thats quite a change if it is difformis, from very round to very pinnate leaves.

That's exactly what it does, but it's only done it once :(

The plant seems quite happy though and has been doing great! I love the shape/color of it

Well your plant still looks quite small, once it gets big it will spread much faster, my leaves where about hand-size. What are you keeping it in? I think I had some sort of turf under my gravel at the time, which made all my plants grow extremely fast.

The plant is about 6 inches tall right now, the substrate it's about 1/2 inch flourite and then black gravel.
