After moving and decorating etc... I am taking the oppertunity to start afresh with 100ltr tank with new décor but using some of my transplanted live plants. I currently have 5 black neon tetras 4 harlequin rasboras 5 neon tetras 1 pled and 4 lemon tetras although they don't look like the ones in any of the books. I intend to use some of the water from the mature tank. I will be using fluval 105 external filter on new tank. what would be a good mix of fish to include to the setup once it is settled. I like guppies but am worried that if I have too strong currents they won't like it. Would a spray bar instead of the jets be better.

may i say all those fish in that size of a tank is very extremely overstocked. all those fish will not be happy. what type of plec do you have. a 35L tank is big enough for either shrim or 1 male betta by itself. i would tink about getting rid of some of your fish soon because your tank is soo overstocked.

5 black neon tetras 10"
4 harlequin rasboras 6"
5 neon tetras 10"
1 plec what type?
4 lemon tetras 8"

your tank is just about big enough for just the harlequins. thats 34 inches in total and your tank is maybe big enough for 6-8 inches of fish.

Thanks for the comment and i appreciate that fact but these fish are not fully grown yet they are still only about 1/2 size. I am carrying out weekly water changes and test nitrite nitrate ammonia and ph regulary. Which is why I am getting the 100ltr tank set up asap and rewiring skts and decorating every night after work. The 35ltr is only to keep the fish in temp till this is done. Hope by weekend to get new tank finished and started the cycling process. If there are people in Bournemouth area with spare used filter medium out there I would like to hear from them to help speed up the cycling process.

Even when in the 100l you probably don't have many inches to play with to be honest.
I'd move them across, re-scape, and then wait until all the fish are fully grown. Once fully grown, check your water parameters, make sure nitrates are increasing alarmingly, and that your filter can properly deal with all of the waste.

Also you really need to ID the plec. Depending on what it is, it may still outgrow the 100l. And even if it doesn't, it's probably going to mean your fully stocked due to the especially dirty nature of plecs.
