I have a tank that contains gouramis and numerous other fish but no matter how much research I do I can’t seem to figure out exactly what type sex they are I have 4 gold, 1 opaline, and 1 pearl.

The pearl gourami in the picture is a young male (has filaments coming off its dorsal fin). It also has clamped fins and is not happy.

I don't normally recommend keeping more than 1 species of Labyrinth (gouramis & Bettas) in the same tank because they are highly territorial and fight. If you have male gold gouramis they could be bullying the pearl gourami.

Make sure the water quality is good and there is no ammonia or nitrite, and the nitrate is less than 20ppm.

Try doing a 75% water change and gravel cleaning the substrate each day for a week. If the tank is more than 2 months old, clean the filter if it hasn't been done in the last 2 weeks.

Agree with Colin. One species of gourami to an aquarium, unless you are housing the very small species where it can sometimes work (Chocolates, Licorice, Sparkling, etc), but that depends on the species and tank size.

BTW, the gold and opaline is the same species, Trichopodus trichopterus. There are several varieties of this species, such as blue, gold, 3-spot, opaline, marble, and whatever. It is the most pugnacious of the smaller/medium size gourami species. Even females have been known to attack and kill other species (non-gourami) in the tank. Males can be true terrors.
