Hi all

I can't help it my first ever cory eggs have hatched!! there's only 2 thats all i could get after fishes eating them all,but i've had them in a separate tank and they've just hatched!!

well done my corys spawned before but all the eggs went moldy because the airstone wasnt getting the eggs properly.

For the past 4 days i've had the eggs in a catching net above the airstone in my fry tank and moved them to a 4 gal tank this afternoon then this evening they hatched!!

good luck with them i think im going to try breeding mine again they havent breed in about 3 months.

I so hope they survive !!

I didn't even think about them breeding,it just happened,more luck i was looking at the tank when they were doing the T shape and spawned just after,by the time i realised i needed to remove the eggs,most of them had got eaten!!

im going to try what tolka was saying yesterday put them in a diffrent tank and leave the lid offf let the water avaporate down till its 1/4 full and then fill the tank back up to full and that makes them think its dry then rainy season.

Mine started day after a done a weekly water change,i guess the water was slightely cooler when i put it back in the tank

yh thats when mine did it last time. i think mine might of been spawning but tall the catfish will have just hovered up the egggs the greedy lil things.

Thats what happen to alot of their eggs i have now got a tank divider has they tended to spawn mainly in one place and dotted the rest around,so if i'm around i can put the divider in to protect the eggs until they harden then remove them

theyre more than likely going to spawn on glass or some other smooth object such as a rock.

Knowing my luck if they spawn again it'll be somewhere i can't divide off,last time they deposited the eggs on the artificial twisted vallis plant i got near the corner and on the themometer of all places

wait are you supposed to take the fish out of you aquarium when i do a water change? i never do, i just vacuum next to them, and then i fill the tank up with colder water using a bucket.

oh and when you change the water and the water is colder, do the fish automatically breed?

no don't take the fish out try to get temperature as close has when you take the water out, it's only because we were taking about corys spawning that we can put slightely cooler water in encourage them to breed has they think its a rainfall and thats when they breed.

Depends on what fish you've got has to whether they will breed,all fish breed in different circumstances.
