I was recently thinking of getting shrimp to add some interesting feature to my tank, but i decided i dont really want shrimp , so i am wondering what fish, or creature i can keep to add color and  a wow factor , the only one i can think about is clown loach
i just need suggestion to what else i can keep, never mind about the tank size Etc. i just need the fish suggestions.

Thank you, for your help (well the help i will hopefully get)

What fish do you have in the tank now, OP? And is your water hard or soft?

We don't want to recommend anything that will eat/get eaten, or that won't be happy in your water!

3foot is abit small for a  clown loach, there schooling fish so need to be in a large tank, 4 foot or bigger,  you could get a dwarf cichlid, whats put you off shrimp ?

As said above there are tons and tons of options :) Just need to know all the info on the tank before anyone suggests anything.

Just on the Clown Loaches - if you like the loaches there are a few options available for this kind of tank like Zebra Loaches and Dwarf Chain Loaches.

But like I say it depends on what other fish you already have :)

so far in my tank there are tetras, rummey nose, ember , glowlight etc
i kept shrimp before and i had a tragic accident ...... , so i dont want to go there again

How many of each?
You many already be fully stocked.

i want anything between,2-6, i only have about 20 fish so i am slightly under stocked, i asked the guy in my local pet store how i can keep, so i have room for a few more

Gourami ...hmmmmm, never thought about them, ill see into them and see what gouramis stay small , thanks

Hate to say it but its not always the best policy to take advice from just one pet shop - they are there at the end of the day to make money - profile websites and forums are good balance of experiences and opinnions on keeping fish not just one shop that want to sell 100 Angel Fish one month for example.

You say you have about 20 tetras its a good idea to have a proper stock list so we can all look at this tank and say right there are 10 neons and 10 rummy nose or 6 neons and 6 rummy nose and 8 glow lights. It is important to keep tetras in schools and if you cant add more or dont want the full school you are better off rehoming if there are less than 5 or 6 of one species in the tank freeing up space for the fish you do want to keep.

I like Talltrees suggestion of the Pearl Gourami - personally my favorite Gourami is the Orange Thick Lipped could be an option in this tank :)

Or you could look at a pair of dwarf cichlids like a pair of Bolivian Rams or a pair of Laetacara Dorsiger the Red Breasted Acara. A trio of Apistogramma would work well Apistogramma Panduro are impressive with bright steel blue and a red edge to the tail fin and then bright yellow and black females :)

thank you for the help, i have a month or so before i buy the fishes so i have got enough suggestion, to decide

No problem, i can tell its appreciated - in the future though I would prefer you to tell us exactly what fish you have - when you tell people your fish numbers and species and tank size and filtration you are more likely to get more responses.
