A highly excited Star this morning when an e-mail popped up. A reply from someone, who on the advert, said they can get more exotic species of fish. So I asked about the true parrot, I got back..

Hi, yes I can get the true parrot, I have some coming in next Tuesday and I am very interested in swapping some for some Rotkeils, what colour do you want?

Ahh the old Parrot situation lol

Did you know that Heiko Bleher states that the CA Blood Parrots are not a hybrid at all, but a deformed short bodied Midas Cichlid (that he found in the wild) and that he brought them into the trade (sort of like balloon rams)...they are great interactive pets to, I have 2 giant ones in my mixed tank

The only thing I hate is, everyone thinks they are giant fancy Goldfish.

But it can be frustrating trying to get a true Parrot, Trimar Aquatics have some in stock usually but the postage is very expensive unless you are doing a shared order.

I love my parrot she is stunning. But kind of boring in all honesty. My uarus, severum and discus are 10x more entertaining then my parrot. She basicly just slowy swims around and looks pretty then will just hang in the mid and look around. Mine is also 7" and still growing I will have had her for a year in April. They are pretty but not all that active or fun ime. So don't get to upset if you can't find one. I would sell you mine if you were near me.
