Thought I'd share my experiences with adding betta to an established tank.

So far Day seems to love the space! She has shown no aggression so far even when my mollies crowded her personal space. She spent a few hours exploring and I guess she is searching for a territory now. After a few inquiring pokes my other fish have gotten over their curiosity lol.

In the tank I have:

5 Mollies
5 Balloon Belly Mollies
3 Dwarf Gourami
3 cory cats
2 dwarf frogs
1 octocinclus

and now my female.

She is still swimming around the top of the tank and through my plants, but sticking mostly to the top.

I'll keep every one updated!

Well she and everyone else has survived the first night. I don't think she has picked out a territory yet, she is still just making her way all around the tank.

I'd watch her with the Gourami, I've heard many stories about them not getting along. (Though I've heard equally as many that say they do get along) I suppose it depends on the fish, just keep an eye on them ;)

Get more cory's and Otto's, they both like to be in groups of at least 5.

also, Pictures?! :p

Working on the photos! And unfortunately my tank is fully stocked, so I don't think I'll get any more fish. My current corys aren't schooling =/ which is weird but they seem fine otherwise. As for the Gouramis - Day more than holds her own lol and they don't even mess with her. The Mollys are the most curious and she just stares them down till they leave.
