Has anyone on here used hydrogen peroxide to clean there rocks before adding to there tank ?

iv not but i cant see any harm in doing so, its got a short half life before it turns into h2o so you'd have to have it made, but if you put it in a bucket with and air stone in the bottem bubbling it will increase the rate it turns to h2o

Cheers mate, I have got some food grade 30% pure, but the rocks are massive! so I cant soak them, thing is one of the reasons why I want to use this stuff and not just boil them. I am planning on spraying the rocks with a pump-action spray bottle. I have read it is safe after a few hours but I will still rinse and scrub the rocks after to make sure. Thanks for your advice tho

its more to make sure theres no unseen nastys as there from a garden rockers, I have scrubbed them for 3 days to remove visabkle dirt but want to make sure there not going to cause problems when I add fish at a later date.

Peroxide shouldn't cause any trouble. Milton is occasionally used as well, but probably less use if you can't soak them (this is where a good belfast sink helps, or an old spare tank).
