ive tried it and it isnt working, i might try aip X but i thought i would pass this idea first, i dont fancy taking the rock out again to blowtorch the buggers

I dont think adding HCl to your tank is a very good idea. Try something like Joes Juice.

If you haven't got too many an easy method is to scare them into shrinking into their hole in the LR and entombing them by covering them with a blob of epoxy putty.
When I had some in my tank, I also found pulling the rock out and just chipping off a thin sliver of LR underneath them was quick and easy.

Don't think hydrochloric acid would be a great idea.

I think you misunderstand, you seal them in against the rock they are on,effectively sealing them in forever, its a good way if you only have one or two and don't want to pull the rock out.

Small amounts of HCl is not bad for your tank Truck. I've tried injecting concentrated HCl (10Molar) directly into the aiptasia directly with a needle/syringe to no effect. Also tried using 10M Sulfuric acid (stronger still) with no effect. Saturated Kalkwasser (joes juice) has limited success but really only kills 20-30% of the time. Havent tried concentrated ammonium hydroxide yet (stronger base than kalk) as I'm waiting to see if my Berghia survive and do any good.

If you ask me, the only options for dealing with them are Peppermint Shrimp, Berghia Nudibranchs, or if you want a man-made one, burn them into little piles of goo with a torch. Johnny's suggestion about using putty or superglue can work too, but I've also had the little punks wiggle out from under those barrierd...
