Hi Guys,

Just wondering if someone can help me out here, I purchased a Hydor CO2 kit, same one as on the link below:
http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?...;products_id=65

Problem is that the 94g canister run out in more or less a couple of weeks, I was running the thing at more or less 1bps.

Someone mentioned to me that there is an adapter to connect the Hydor CO2 system to a normal CO2 Canister, does anyone know anything about it? what it is and where I can buy one? That way I could just purchase a 2kg canister which would last me a much longer time.

Many thanks

I think this might be what you are after

However I've only ever heard of it being used on the larger 600g welding type disposable bottles. I've not heard of anyone try using it on the hydor kit before.
Let us know if it works :)

Thanks for the reply, you reckon with that converter I could use my Hydor Kit on 600g welding type bottles? Would it be safe to do so?

No sorry I didnt explain myself very well. The converter is used to convert kits that use 600g disposable welding cylinders, to a kit that can run off a refillable cylinder. So I think it might work to convert your kit from 96g disposables cylinders to refillable cylinders, although I've never heard of it even being tried.

EDIT - nice tank BTW :)

LondonDragon i've had a hydor system in the past and i looked into the possibilty of running larger bottles with or with out a thread converter, i also tried to find cheap bottles of a similar size to the hydor ones. I didn't manage to find a small bottle which had matching threads to the regulator.

I spoke to someone at aquatics-online.co.uk and they said the the 'Exclusive' system i had wasn't designed to work at the pressure of pressurised canisters but the 'Advanced' system should be able to,(not sure which system you have).

Make sure you check if the threads match before you buy any potential expensive equiptment.

the advanced system comes with said adapter i have one im sure i'f you email hydor they will give you the part number so you can order one

Looks like I brought a piece of crap then to put it nicely, I will have to get rid of this and invest my cash on something much better.
Should have done that in the first place, lucky enough only paid £35 for it.

Many thanks guys :)
