Hi all after 7 months my readings have been showing 0 for a week,so my tanks are cycled. What does everyone think of my stockings, under or over stocked?
110L -5 corries
2 dwarf gouramis[1m,1f]
2 pitbull plecos,
6 green fire tetra ,
8 glowlight tetra ,
shrimp.
28l- 1betta male,
5 neon tetra,
shrimp

I don't like to see neons in such small tanks, but apart from that, the only change I could make would be to increase Cory numbers to 6-10 of one species.

Hi Kitty kat, thanks for your honest opinion, was going to havre pygmy corries, but was advised against themas they were too active ,my betta seems much happier inthis tank and isn`t bothered at all by these tetras..I`ve got 2bronze and 3 albino, would you increase these?

I'd go for 4-5 bronze and 4-5 albino bronze then.. maybe get each colour morph up to 6 eventually, if the tank will take it.

I think pigmys would have been worse still than the neons because they do better with a larger bottom area (footprint). Just for the record, my favourite fish for a tank like that are male endlers, ruby tetras and green rasboras (not emerald danios) as those three rarely grow over 20-25 mm.

Thanks for that Kittykat, will increase my corries bit at a time, thought i was fully stocked ,that`s why i haven`t already.

You should stock what you feel confident to have. If you don't think the tank will take it, don't stock, even if I say that you can. I can't see each individual set-up I help with, which is awkward, because stocking does depend on how everything is set up. It is also good practice to wait 4-6 weeks after problems finish, before adding any stock, and to wait 1-2 weeks between new stock.
