Hi basically this is about trying to help a little LFS move some fish that have outgrown the shop on. I know there are a good few members that live in or around Hull and some of them might be able to lend a hand in this situation or know someone that can. So.....
I just got back from an LFS in South Cave, he used to be in Brough but he moved around Xmas I think. Anyway just got back today and he has tons of quite large fish that are in pretty cramped conditions the owner is doing his best including buying a new tank specifically for the big growing fish. The store is a general pet shop but the fish section is a long standing thing and he knows his stuff, the tanks are a bit algae ridden but the fish are good quality.
For those of you who know the area, South Cave is in the middle of no where and that in my opinion is the only reason these beautiful fish are still there if these were in any other store (that people knew about) would sell in a weekend when in reality some of these fish have been there literally years!
So the fish that IMO are a priority to find a home for would be :
Albino Mozambique Mouth Brooders x 2 - 8 - 10 inches - gorgeous fish have a google he says they are peaceful but boistrus - these have been there literally years and live in a 4 foot 40 gallon tank *edit just had a google to learn more about them and they are a bit of a tank buster at max size of 40 "
so yeah not possible it will be to home them..... there are a few monster tanks in hull though.
Jaguar Cichlid - 8 inches - again been there a good 2 years and lives alone in a 4 foot 40 gallon tank
Green Severum - 7 inches (blind in one eye)
Uaru - 8 inches (gorgeous nearly got him today but I knew my tank would be over stocked) grown to this size from being 2 inches
Large Glass Type Catfish species unknown possibly some kind of bagrid? - 7/8 inches (looks like an african brown knife fish but with whiskers) - been in the store years since being about 2 inches and is in a 2 foot tank maybe 2 and a half? alone and bottom sits a fair bit but swims beautifully
3-4 Common plecs - 6 - 8 inches
At least 5 Adult Kribensis - Mix of male and female adults good condition
Im only posting this because these are all fantastic fish that need decent homes and like I say there are a lot of members in Hull so hoping that someone can help out, I totally dont blame the owner for the conditions its just location. I would personally have had the Uaru and the Severum today if I had the room in my tank but I would worry that my upgrade is too far away to handle the big sev and big uaru next to my severus and nic.
Ive not posted prices but they are all good for the size and health of the fish, but it is a shop and a business at the end of the day.
