Hello, I'm thinking about canging my setup a little bit, cuz after I'm done and able to sell the fry I currently have, I'll move some fish over to that tank, and have some empty space, so that means more fish. I also may give a few fish to a friend. So hows this:

5 Cardinals
6 Tiger barbs
6 Cories
1 Dwarf Gourami
1 Bamboo Shrimp
A pair of Bolivian or Blue Rams

I tihnk it's ok, but IDK if the tiger barbs will show aggression to the rams or any other fish. So is this ok?

I'd skip the tiger barbs. They are very agressive and can get nippy as well. Also, because of how active they are, 30 gallons is really the minimum. The difference in a 29 and a 30 gallon is about 6 inches of swimming space, so one gallon really does make a difference.

How about rosy barbs? those are a little less active but are fine in a 29 gal.

Well, I really like Tiger barbs, and I dont tihnk my LFS has Rosy barbs. Although I do like them as well. What else could I put in the tiger barbs place?

Do they have cherry barbs? they are peaceful and don't need as large of a tank as tiger barbs.

Another reason to avoid tiger barbs is they are nippy fish, and they could go after the gourami. I have a opaline gourami in my tank, one of the more agressive gouramis, and still have had people tell me I should mix the two. (my gourami seems to have told the barbs he's boss, as he swims towards them and the barbs scatter)

Yea, I was also considering cherry barbs. Can I get more of them since they stay smaller? Maybe like 7 or 8 possibly? IDK, I havent been to the LFS lately, and they get new shipments in every week, so maybe they'll get some rosy barbs somewhere along the line.

Yup, I read that already, but thanks though.

So I guess I'll go for rosy or cherry barbs. Thanks.
