Howdy, Its Been A While

Oh Ulysses is super cute!! Congrats on you new baby. :)

Is he a baby tiger oscar that doesn’t have his red yet, or a wild type?
He's black with gold stripes. Now, whether these will change as he gets bigger or not, I have no idea. He's my first Tiger O. I've had a red in the past and currently have the Lutino pictured above. I'm really hoping they'll stay the shiney gold that they are now!

He will prob lose his stripes before you know it. Even if wild, they still will lose their stripes after a few months and will start to put on their distinct orange coloring. I have not known one to keep its black and white coloring. If I did I would love it as I love how it looks :good:

How big is don pedro??

He's about 6" now.

Well, thats a bummer. But its ok. He's already such a character I'm very happy to have him as a part of the family.

Not all tigers lose their stripes (I've personally never seen one who has - but being newish to the hobby in the last year or two I'm not saying I know everything!). Here's some adult tiger oscar pics for you:

Just do a google search for tiger oscars, there's loads of adult pics there :) Also check out the oscar forums, they're excellent for advice and will know better whether he'll keep his colour or not. He is lovely, the tigers you see over here in LFS nearly always are red and black - but the smaller ones are sometimes the same colour as yours - and do get redder stripes with time. Then there's wild colour oscars, which have more black and green on them, so who knows what he'll grow into? :)

The best forum for oscar advice:

And if they come out as all ### marks because of the moderation here, I'm sorry - but sometimes you cant post links to other sites in case some of us escape :fun:
