How To Store Old Bogwood

Hi Guys

How if possible can I keep an older piece of bogwood. If i take it out of the tank will it dry out and crack?

Any advice would be appreciated.

When I took out my bogwood it dried out....eventually but it didn't crack. In saying that it was mopani and that's quite a hardwood. Just keep it in a cupboard away from solvents and cleaners and it will be fine. But to be sure you should boil the bogwood before you stick back in a tank to get rid of any grime and household dirt that's attached itself to the wood.
