Does anybody know how to sterilise plants?
In other words how to kill any invading parasites etc from entering the tank?

Thanks.

I have heard of people using a solution of Potassium permanganate to sterilise plants. A strong salt solution will also help rid parasites.

I take it that the salt has to be proper aquarium salt?

To sterilise plants place them into a bucket treated with a half dose of Myxazin by Waterlife for a few hours, then rinse them in clean dechlorinated water before adding them to the tank.

Hi CFC, i own Sterazin by waterlife if thats any good?

sterazin

Ive also got a finrot treatment which is similar to Myxazin by King British.

Are the above any good? if not i'll buy some salt or myxazin tomorrow.

The sterazin will probably do the same job.

Sterazin will also do the trick. Here is a snippet from their website

"In addition, Sterazin P's fish health properties can be used to aid the sterilisation of new plants when introduced to your pond. Plants should be bathed in a clean container and left in solution for 2 hours."

This is also mentioned against plain old Sterazin.
