How To Raise Ph Level

Hi guys, could anyone tell me how to raise the ph level in my tank? For the first time it's measured at 6 and I need to get it back in the safe zone!
Bizarrely all my other parameters read fine on the test so I'm not seeing a knock on effect there, but there is what appears to be a bacteria bloom happening in the tank.
I don't want to cause my little Freddy any stress

Please don't add any chemicals from the shop (eg pH Up) to the tank, those products cause more problems.

I know it is not the same as your question, but it does contain a lot of advice by Byron and StevenF on how to raise the pH without resorting to chemicals.
