As title suggests how??

Conditioned for 2 weeks female is in with him in a container so he can see her

He is intrested in her but wont build a nest
He displays and then swims to his nesting area but no nest is there any motivational tips?

still having trouble then?? have you tried decreasing surface agitation or the overall stregnth of the output??

If you haven't already tried, add an Indian almond leaf or two.

Whenever I put a new one in, it floats at the top for a day, and my male seems to love building a nest under it.

Hi yeh water movement is at a min and i cant get almond leaves as here they are £6.75 for 10 so i tried oak sicamore and horse chest nut leaves but nothing

He calls her over by displaying then swimin over to his "nest" but hes been in there all day and only a tiney amount of bubble

Could he make it after shes been relesed?

Try a product called "Marc Weiss Instant Amazon" It softens water, has trace elements for plants, and acts as a um...ah..a um...fish viagra :hey:
Believe me, it doesn't fail
When I still had my female guppies

Oh boy

There were a lot of babies

:hey: :hey: :hey:

Here's the link to some and some more info

I have a large artificial leaf that I have bent the stem of to make the leaf part sit perfectly at the surface for the male to build his nest under. If the male wont build a nest even after seeing the female I would try conditioning him a bit more with treats like bloodworms, sometimes some more protien in the diet really gets fish in the mood. I often add dead leaves from my trees in the yard that I know are harmless to fish and this seems to get the water to the state that my male feels is suitable to breed in. A shame really as my male is willing but my female is coy. Also maybe move the female away from the male for a few days so he can't see her at all before bringing her back in to his view. This should make him all the more eager.

Its not tgat hes not intrested its just the nest making i dnt know why hes not making one

Perhaps he will once i let her out tomoz hhhhhhhmmmmm

Yeh ill give that ago later huh it was going so well :( then this problem happens

Also he is young would this affect it he isnt fully grown at the moment and my female is older can age affect this eg
Him not having the knowlege to build a big nest although he built a semi nest once before 1.5 cm thick
By 1" length and width

Do you put a preggo female in the container thing with him to make the nest or do you want them to make one for another reason?? Just wondering.

Hi the male is in the spawning tank since yesterday and shes in a container in the tank

I put her in with him today and he was overly agressive i mean parts of her finns are sitting at the bottom of the tank atm so i seperated them

She did what she was suppost to to tell him she wonts to breed vert strips submitting following him to his feeble nest (which she liked!) but he just chased her off every time should i leave them to it?

Her vert strips turned to horiz strips what should i do condition a bit more or try again today for longer then 5-10 mins or try again tomorrow?
