How to make bogwood sink.

Get a piece of slate, drill a hole in it, attach it to the driftwood with a brass or stainless steel screw. Cover the slate with gravel, or maybe a rock or two if the driftwood is kind of large.

It's about 1 foot and maybe 4 inches. Do you think I could use my aquarium sealent, and glue it to a rock and bury that?

You could try placing a rock on top of it and leave it about a week until the wood gets water logged.

HTH :)
Yes, you could do that, or just let if float. Eventually it will sink when the water is really saturated into it..........how long have you had it?

If it's a foot long, and 4" in diameter, you're going to need a pretty hefty rock to keep it down. At least, that's been my experience.

Probably, I would soak it for a while just so it sinks a little.

I have read not to put any metal objects in a tank. Since Tolak was pretty specific about what metals to use he might know something about it that I don't ( I would not be surprised in the least :look: )

i tied a rubber sucker thing to my driftwood and stuck it 2 the side of the tank aprrox where i wanted it , left it like that for a month then took the sucker off and it stayed sunk :D

I've seen them pre-made at the lfs with brass or stainless steel screws, and could not see paying $10 for a 6" piece of drift wood, so it'd DIY time. No metal in the tank is the usual rule, but with the screw sunk into the wood, and the exposed head buried under the gravel, I imagine it does no harm. I don't see why you couldn't use aquarium silicone to accomplish the same thing. If I had some handy I would.

i had the same problems so i added a couple of plant weights to bits that stuck out then balanced a couple of tank rocks (ones that are now holding down a long like of grass like plant that keeps sprouting after every water change) after 2 weeks i tested it... took everythin off an it stayed... i had the added advantage of no fish bein in my tank to get clubbed by the floating bogwood so i left it to float for the first 4 days
