How To Maka My Mum Get A New Tank?

I really want a shrimp tank. I saw ome in my LFS it was a 20 liter one and it cost 30 € wich is about 24 pounds. How do i get my mum to buy it for me?

If she does get it for me....

What shrimp and how many shall i put in it?
Do shrimps need a heater or a filter?
What temperature?
Do i need real plants or can i use fake ones?

Any other advice? Thanks, im desperate

Ask for an advance on your birthday money? Offer to do some jobs around the house she could pay you for?

Shrimps do need a filter, but you must make sure it's one they can't get sucked into, or a normal one put in a mesh bag, or the foot of a pair of tights (so that'll be you grovelling to your mum again, I guess!).

Most shrimps need a heater too, but I believe cherries are ok at room temps.

I'd say five or six shrimps but you could probably get ten; if you do go for cherry shrimps they will breed.

Definitely real plants for shrimps; they mostly feed by picking microscopic 'bits' of algae and micro-organisms off the plants. Java moss is great for them, plus cheap and easy to grow.
