I'm about to get some plants ready to mail, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. Can someone with experience give me the low-down on how to do it? It will probably take 7-10 days to get to the destination by ground mail.

Thanks.

I'm not really experienced. But i have heard that you can just wrap the plants in sandwich bags or recycle the bag it came in and place them in a Jiffy style bag. You could probably get the person your sending it to to send you a self addressed Jiffy bag.

Aparently the plants only need a bit of moisture for them to be alright.

As i said before though, i am not that experienced. There are a few people here who send lots of plants to each other around this part of the forum so i'm sure they'll be able to help.

I tend to wrap my plants in damp newspapers, then into a ziploc bag then an envelope of the appropriate size. They've always been fine like this for me.

7-10 days is a hell of a long time Jen, I send some hornwort to Jimboo last week and he said it was like mush just 4 days later. Is there no way you can send them quicker than that?

I'm not sure of the exact time... but im gonig across canada here... Unless we go for air mail. I'll have to price things out tomorrow.

Thanks

I got a lilly bulb with a couple of leaves through the post last year. It came in a plastci bag with a little water protected by a piece of UPVC pipe cut to length. Practically indestructible packaging.
