How To Keep Nerite Snails

I'm thinking of getting a nerite snail or 2 for my planted tank.

Firstly I wanted to know if they are easy to keep and what conditions they like? Secondly, I don't really have that much algae in my tank so what else could I feed them on?

What types of algae do they eat?

Nerites are poop machines.
I had one in one of my Betta tanks, within a day there was so much poop on the sand, I couldn't believe such a small creature could poop so much.
I wouldn't have another one
