can anyone give my any information on breeding bettas? in particular conditioning the male and female, encouraging the male to build a nest, knowing when the time is right for breeding, and how to care for the fry - especially what to feed.

some bettas i had several yeas ago had babies but they all died  .

i'd like to try again  .

i have no luck with this as i dont know myself, it would be nice to find out though :) Your best bet is to ask one of the breeder on the forums... Like Netty (Forgot the other breeders- sorry guys )

Wait, a chance???
How is that possible?
Unless....
Do you keep your males and females together?
That really should not be done. They'll end up getting injured or worse. Males and females should only be kept together briefly, for spawning.

Yes I do agree with you, if you didnt put the male with the female then you keep them in the tank tank? This can cause un needed damage as when they breed the male gets very protective and might go for the other fish or females in the tank...

There is a section on our website on breeding and raising fry that should answer alot of your questions.
