How Smart Are Fish?

I feel they associate certain sized people, colored people, and shaped people as food. Because of course when my dogs walk by they hardly flinch, but when I come by they go crazy. When my mom comes by, she is 1 foot shorter than me, they seem to get confused on whether she means food or is a predator. I think they can tell what is food and what isn't or could be a predator and it may be as simple as that.

It varys from fish to fish i imagine, but all are atleast somwhat intelligent. The problem is that the kind of intelligence we have and the kind of intelligence fish have are very differant.

A fish's intelligence is very primative and insticntual. this is meant to keep the fish alive. fish smarts. they are able to pick up on certain trends and make basic connections; such as feeding time, but i dont think you'll ever be able to train fish to jump through hoops.

the 10 second goldfish memory is certainly not true, as they can remember and recall trends that they may have not experianced for over a year. Their ancestors have also been around for nearly a million years, i think thats proof enough.
