How Should I Connect The Co2 Solenoid?

Agree :good:

If you have a bubble counter though you shouldn't need to take off the diffuser. You might have to up the pressure slightly to clear any water and then back it off. Or you can just wait until gas gets out and then set the BMP.

I have a couple of diffusers and after a lot of breakages  I now have lenghts of tube perminantly on the diffuser and just pop the other end to a hose connecter. Less messing around and chance of breaking it.

Just to reiterate. Set the reg with the needle valve closed and then adjust the needle valve. Once the needle valve is opened you may find that the actual pressure is no longer 1BAR but that is because the needle valve is opened.

guys , thanks a lot :good:

It finally seems works. I was so scared every time i turn the valve, never thought fish keeping can be so dangerous

now i need to sort out the algea problem. as i use Aquasoild, which is too much nuitrition, and new cycle tank, now the tank are full of brown hairy algea.

i have high light, high CO2, high nuitrition, dose EI, but the tank just look like nightmare

You have had a long period of playing around with the CO2. IMO that is what has caused all the algae at the mo. If you are dosing etc. I would just keep going for a while with the CO2 steady and see how it goes once it all settles down.
A new tank also will give you a lot of brown algae due to the silicates from the tank. Just Vac it out and try and remove as much hair algae as you can.

Thanks, Thommo.

silicates, i also read that. But my tank is already cycled more than one month now. and i changed new tube, very strong light. normally the brown algea should die.

However, the more i dose, the more algea grow. now they grow exreamly fast, like brown hairy stuff, cover everywhere, it is easy to remove, but grow too fast.

i noticed, if i stop dose, they grow speed slow down.

BTW, all these brown hairy algea are pearling like mad, but none of my plant pearling

Guys, pls help, another new problem come. I noticed the solenoid can not shut off the CO2 now.

b4, it can shut the CO2 totally off. But now, if only reduce the CO2 bubble rate from 1 bubble per second to 1 bubble every 2 second.

at first i thought there are some CO2 left in the tube, but even hours later, the CO2 still come out.

why????

:-(

Did you end up putting in a Check valve after the solanoid to stop water getting into it. If there is water in it it can gum up the solanoid and stop it sealing. If you do have a check valve it may not be good enough and you may need a better quality one.

Sorry, that is all I can think off. If you have CO2 getting through with it off it is NOT sealing period. Reasons could be many. Old, gummed up, water in there, not closing.

i do have check valve. thus i do not think water will go into there. The Solenoid used to work well, at least 2 weeks ago. But now, even i unplug the power supply of it, the CO2 still come out, although the speed is reduced.

i also notice when it is switched on, it make some kind strange noise, not very loud though

the nosie is more than likely from the solinoid electrical part of it. Is it like a humming sound. If it is it is generally quite normal, but obvioulsy if it is really loud it may be a problem.

I would take the solaniod off and blow it out to see if there is any water or gunk in there. If there isn't you are more than likely up for a new solaniod my friend :X

yes, it is kinda low humming sound, sometime u can hear it, sometimes you can not.

blow the solenoid? from which direction? i guess it might be stuck as well, as i put some soap water to test whether there is a leak, i guess it might cause some problem.

You can blow any direction on the valve part of the solenoid. You just have the power on tio have it open. If you can feel pressure on the other side obvoiusly it is open with the power on. And with the power off you shouldn't be able to feel anything. If it is turned on and no pressure well you get the idea

Humming sound comming and going sounds like the actuator is on the way out which could account for it not working correctly.

Wierd that it doesn't shut it off as they are a normally closed valve(no power no flow). If it is continuing to flow CO2 with no power to it it sound like it is jammed.

now my tank is full of all kinds of algae. although i do water change, and dose often.

i guess one main reason is i use Aquasoil Amonzia. it is famous to cause too high ammonia, too much nutrition. I remember my last planted tank, i just use normal gravel, nothing else, no dose, DIY CO2, the plants grow like weed. stunning look.

But this time, too much fuss -_-
what piss me off is, all those algae pearling like mad, those grow on the wood, on the tip of leaves. But i can not see my plants pearl, although some fast growing stem plants grow quite big now.
