Hi
just trying to think ahead for the summer, and time away from the tank.If i decrease the lighting period to slow the tank down,
how does that effect the daily ferts & carbon doses?
i.e if the lighting is reduced by half what should i roughly be dosing at?

15 Gal 30W T8- 8hrs lighting period
2ml Easycarbo
5ml TPN+
no root tabs, cat litter substrate.

Thanks in advance.

If it was me I'd dose the same, changing dosing even with photo period changes can cause algae, you need a steady uniform dose really.

Thanks
my prob will be the daily carbon. Not easy to do if i'm not there, and someone is only looking in every few days.
Guess i'll dose ferts for the week, and then get the helper to do carbon whenever they come in.I'll deal with algae issues after they arrive.
Just trying to head off problems before they start.

You've already addressed the lighting - so if we make this the limiting factor, keep the ferts up and hope the natural CO2 requirements don't exceed the given light - You should be ok.
A change will have occurred but as you say, deal with it when you get back, you'll have done the best you can. :good:
