How Old Should Ur Fish Be Before Getting Treats?

How old should your goldfish be before you can feed them treats such as mussels and what is the best way to give them to your fish (raw/open e.t.c.)?
Also what are some other good treats for growing fancy goldies?

My guess would be big enough so that they can eat them.

IMO, Any age is okay.
