I was looking around, and I saw that you should only feed fish once a day. I've also heard that you should feed them two or three times a day. I don't think I've ever given my fish 3 meals a day, but I usually give them two. Should I stop that and only give them one?

My lot get fed twice a day - 3 evenings that food is something meaty in the form of a frozen block - I keep in bloodworms, artemia, tropical sextet, tropical mix and mysis.

Depends on the fish.

I feed my reef 3 times a day, mostly to keep a butterfly from eating corals.

My discus (and tankmates) are fed three times a day, but only because I have little ones. Before they bred it was twice a day.

My shrimp tank is fed once a day

The nanoreef and coldwater marine tanks I have in the office are fed twice a day and not fed on weekends.

What fish do you have?
I have 3 tetras, 1 red tailed shark, 1 pictus catfish, 3 silver dollars, an angelfish and a veil angelfish, and in different tanks, a betta and a goldfish.

Yeah with these fish I would feed once a day.

just wanted to add that the tetra's need some friends. 3 isn't a good number to have as they are a shoaling species. They really need to be in a group of 9 or 10 - unless of course there's some reason for only having the 3 such as that's all that's left from a group and you no longer want any more.

Also the shark might prove a problem later on unless you tank is very big. These fish can get to 15cm and are a fast swimming species and will need a very large tank when fully grown. It also might prove to be a bit boisterous for the angels

Yeah, I know. My tank is 60 gallons and the tetras are getting moved to a tank with friends soon. All my fish seem to get along. The shark is probably 2-3 inches, but it gets along just fine with the others. He/she minds his/her own business most of the time. Is there a way to determine the gender of a shark like that?
