I have a 17 Litre fry tank, It currently has only 5 guppy fry in it.

How often should i change the water, and how much water do i change?

I currently have no filter on the tank. I do have a filter for the tank but i believe it may be slightly too strong for very young fry and might suck them into the intake. When they get a little bigger i will turn it on. It is a filter which hangs on the back of the tank.

Thanks

If there is no filter then there is no bacteria :/ Why not invest in a small air driven sponge filter if the one you have is too powerful.

I have recently brought a fry tank 5 Gallon for now!!!

It has a small heater and air driven filter floss filter so all ok, but my 2 guppy fry died yesterday and to be honest was gutted as looked after them really well.

Breezer is right tho if no heater of filter then water will go wrong at some point, you need bacteria in there for the fish to be healthy and for them to survive!!! My filter was £3.99 and then 25p for the air tubing then £7 for the air pump so nothin really and that small cost will keep you fry living and well!!!

What size filter is the one you already have? On my fry tank im using a 150L/hr(30L tank) and to prevent suckups just use a stocking or a net bag. Works a treat. A heater is essential for sensitive little fry, itll prevent deaths and keep the lil fella's happy. Make sure you do regular water changes even with a filter....twice a week makes them very happy.

Goodluck.
