So im safe to go right to the top of the glass then? Cus ive got an inch of glass with no water only condensation.

EDIT: Thanks for the welcome. :D

yeh m8 i had mine running for mnths with it filled rite 2 the top of the glass with no probs at all :)

I don't have one of those tanks, but my general rule is I like to be able to reach down to the substrate and move my hand / arm about a bit without the water sloshing over the sides. If it does then it's too much water, if it doesn't get close then I can add some more - lol :)

that makes no difference 2 me lol i get water in different room 2 where im doing a water change doesnt matter how full the tanks are pmsl ..... yeh the misses loves me doing water changes lol

when i first set my tank up i did the same thing, i didnt fill it up all the way leaving about an inch of condensation around the top, eventually i filled it to just under the black rim, as Jen advised...Also welcome to TFF

Welcome MKD. I am going to basically agree with everyone else. The wide black plastic top frame has 2 purposes as I see it. One is to brace the top and make it stronger, the other is to hide the water line. If you fill to almost anywhere within the top bit that is covered by that frame, the tank looks better.

Hello

I have the same tank that I use for my Betta

I leave about a one inch gap, and it does condensate up a little bit, but I like to see him bobbing up and blowing his bubbles!

I don't have both the filters in there any more, but the one that came with the tank was on the way out, so bought the new one and had them running alongside each other for a couple of weeks.

Only got the Fluval now and all is ok!
