How Much Substrate?

Hi Everyone,

Could someone please tell me approximately how many KG's of substrate I'm likely to need for the base of my tank? The dimensions are 80cm x 42cm (eurostyle 80). I assume it is essential to use substrate if I want plants?

i would not say plant substrate is essential alot of plants will grow just as well with gravel but it depends on the plants that you want
