I recently bought a used tank. The previous owner used it for salt water fish. I plan to use it as a freshwater tank (for my Frontosa). I've been cleaning and cleaning but can't seem to get every last bit of salt out. When do I just say enough and fill it up? Will a little salt hurt?

Fill it up, dissolve the salt, then do a 100% water change and most of it will be gone, the remainder will be so negligible it makes no difference.

Since the tank was previously saltwater does it have a sump system? Do you plan on using it? I am very curious about using a sump in a freshwater tank. (research for my future discus tank)

Yes, it actually came with all sorts of stuff including a sump system, powerheads, etc. I don't know what any of it even is, but I don't plan to use it. Probably put it on Craig's list.
