I struggle to visualise gallons, as I work in metric, but you would probably need about 75 gallons up. Clown loaches can grow up to about 1 foot. And you really should keep more than 2 as they prefer to be in groups and are much nicer to watch when kept as a group.

And plecs get rather large too... so yeah, would need to be big.

And you would need to add more clowns to that list as they are a social fish that need to be in groups.
