I can't find any German Blue Rams or Bolivian Rams around where I live, but I found some online that I might consider ordering when the weather gets a bit warmer. The thing is...I don't know if the prices I found are fair or not? About how much do these fish sell for around you? (I'm in the US, btw)

I bought some for $4, but they were very tiny. About an 1" long. The other alternative was a place selling them for $9 at 1 1/2".

Where I shop they're $5 to $10, depending on which type of Ram and size. I never had very good luck with Rams in the past; they seemed to live about six to eight months and then suddenly drop dead. I think they're rather finicky when it comes to water conditions.

After I posted this I did a lot more reading on the Rams and learned that they do seem to be pretty picky about their water, so I'll probably hold off on getting those. I still consider myself a beginner right now, so I think I'll stick with the easier, hardy fish.

Thanks for all the answers, though. It lets me have a good idea what to look for, if I do decide to get some in the future. They are beautiful fish :)
