I'm about to upgrade to a bigger tank and have no use for my current tank after so I'm looking to shift it. My question is how much could I reasonably sell it for? It's a Aqua One UFO 550 around 80 liters, I brought it brand new about 2-3 months ago for £230, absolutely no damage and will come with the filter, stand, filter material etc etc. I realised now after looking around online and on sites such as gumtree I should have gone down the 2nd hand route as it's much much cheaper that way.

Thanks in advance

Would be surprised if you get more than £100 for a second hand setup.

well if it is clean. and i mean everything stand, tank etc. no leaks. and looks brand new then you can wheel and deal the price that you want. i wouldn't go any lower than 100. and also because you haven't had it for very long, the length of time someone has a tank, then slowly the price goes down .

Agreed. But you also have to remember tanks are just like cars, the value drops the instant you use use them by a huge amount.

On Ebay you would do well to get much more than £75 (I have been watching auctions recently and even 4-footers have gone for less than this), but like everything, it is only worth what someone is willing to paid for it.

true.. you can always put it on kijiji and see if someone will get it..

I get mine from ebay and if the pictures are decent and everything is listed in detail the prices seem to go up. You can always stick it on with a reserve and see what happens.

Iv recently sold a 125 litre (juwel rio 125) with stand, lid and lights in perfect condition, fluval 205 filter, 200 watt internal heater, Limpopo Black sand, and some other bits and pieces for £65. This was sold on preloved. It will probably sell quicker on eBay but then you have to pay fees.

I would have come throught he heads of the valleys and paid more for a sale like that :good: just what i'm looking for. :fish:

With regards to an asking price, i would have to agree and not accept much (if anything) less than one hundred quid.

Terry.

Keep hold of it to use as a hospital tank, you never know when you will need it :good:

I was going to ask more for it, was thinking £100 and see what i got offered but needed the room... And money to go towards the 8footer. Sooner I can get that the better now. :good: my dovii awaits his new home lol

Iv just paid £10 fir a 110 litre tank, hood, lights and a beechwood stand

An yes ten quid, not £100 lol

End of the day what it's worth n what someone's willing to pay are two different things
