your cories would be fine, they are relatively peaceful cichlids, although i would suggest getting a few tapajos instead of just one.
how much they go for really varies on where you get them from, i've seen them for anywhere between £6 and £22 for F1's.
most of the ones in lfs' are czech bred and aren't great quality, see if you can find some uk bred ones

My tapajos orange heads, I paid about £10 each, this was a while ago. And yes, should be fine with the cories and I agree more than one would be good, mine used to stay together permanently, both male as well I might add.

that settles it im gonna re-home my angels jade eyed cichlids and probably firemouths ( unless i can get away with keeping them ) and try to source some good quality uk bred tapajos.

Firemouths shouldnt bother any geo's to my knowledge.

was thinking more of stocking levels tbh minxy from what ive been reading these tapajos can reach around 10 " and hopefully il be looking at getting around 3

Ah yes didnt think of that, they can get quite big, but great fish so well worth dropping some of the other stock

as soon as i saw them i fell in love they have that wow factor im after. well ive posted 2 ads in the buy/sell section my 4 angels and 2 jade eyeds are being sacrifised ( only to good homes tho ) and also posetd that im after 3 nice geophagus tapajos. googled for cichlid breeders but not found anything yet. im not gonna rush tho gonna make sure i get good quality ones .

try looking on aquarists classified they usually have some good cichlids going

exactly where i am at the mo mate. found some lovely looking specemins on there only 6 quid each around 2.5 to 3 inch. only trouble is collection from devon!!!! have messaged to ask if he would consider posting

is that what nelly has just bred? have found a guy about 20 mins drive from me runs a tropical import business have emailed him to see if he can get them for me.

no nelly bred channa orientalis or however you spell it i am after a smaller species that grows about 8"
