Ive just finished my qualifying week of clear results after a fish-in cycle boosted by mature media.

While i wait until i can get a lift to get 2 harlequin rasbora, i want some red cherry shrimp.

Im assuming that because they don't produce much waste i can go ahead and buy 5.

Is this right?

Kind of hard to say without knowing what/how many fish you have now and the size tank but as you mentioned, shrimp aren't generally big waste producers.

I know this, but as i did a fish in cycle i need to add fish slowly (about 2 or 3 a week) So ill buy 2, give it a week then buy 3 more.

Edit:

60l planted tank

3 mollys in currently

will add 5 harlequin rasbora
and 5 glowlight tetra

If you only have 3 mollies now and add 5 rasboras and the 5 shrimp, you will probably see a bump in ammonia as you are probably better than doubling the stocking level. The final stocking looks as if it will be ok as long as your filtration and maintenance schedule is good.

I going to add 5 shrimp. Then leave it a couple of weeks as i cant get to buy the rasbora anyway. Then i will buy 3 rasbora, then wait a week and buy 3 more...
